Recently dug into Tyler Hamilton’s ‘Mad Like Tesla’ which featured a story about algal biofuel company Algenol. See above a shot of their PBR in which they are attempting to grow algae that secretes ethanol in situ. This approach would overcome numerous challenges related to algal biofuel production but it remains to be seen if Algenol can make the breakthrough and produce in quantity at competitive costs.
