Adventures in Cleantech

My company invests in cleantech. The blessing that is my vocation stretches my brain sideways, on the daily. This is my shoutout to the business I love and the adventures it grants me.

Nova Scotia Cleantech Open

One of the projects I have been working on for the past six months is the Nova Scotia Cleantech Open, a global business plan competition for cleantech startups.

The competition seeks to find and fund the best cleantech startup in the world.

Getting the message out and drawing in high quality submissions has been an interesting journey. We hit them high by sponsoring best in industry events like the Cleantech Group’s Cleantech Forums, and hit them low by directly marketing to a target list of high growth potential startups.

We are infinitely pleased with the results thus far. The recently announced Top 10 supports our thesis that companies are looking globally for early-stage venture.

Check out the Top 10 here.

In addition to the quality of submissions, we were truly inspired by the breadth of technologies on display. We look forward to meeting the founders of these companies when they pitch to us in mid Feb.

With $100k in cash, a $200k seed investment and a bevy of extra treats up for grabs, we expect they will be on their best form.
