Great new post by Matthew Nordan of Venrock on why human’s need to suspend disbelief because, guess what, we do not have the natural world all figured out.

My Fair Lady

On a side note, I learned about suspension of disbelief in a Music in Film course that I once took. Suspension of disbelief is what creators expect of someone watching a musical b/c, you know what, you have to believe it is normal to break out into song while at a gala event full of swanky people. Kind of like how you have to believe that the world can be saved by green algal gunk.

My Fair Lady was the epic example; I like Matthew’s nod to Doc Brown much better.

Great (although somewhat data heavy) table showing the estimated LCOE of new generation heading to 2016.
Hilights
NatGas continues to kick Coal’s butt, Hydro is cheap, clean and green and Wind and Solar make huge strides in terms of price parity especially Wind vis a vis Coal.
Good to see cleaner energy catching up, and in some cases surpassing our less favorable forms of dirty fuel. Once the proverbial wimp getting sand kicked in its face, renewables have muscled up in a big way.
